Got questions? We’ve got answers.

Explore the most common questions about how Crowdseek works, why it’s different, and how you can get started.

Start with the part of your day you want back. That is the first question, and it takes a tick and two taps.

From that we build a sleep plan around your reason, with one clear focus to try first and a few supporting actions. You will see the whole plan before you create an account.

Try the first thing tonight. In the morning there is a short check-in: one question about yesterday, a word for how you feel, a line about your night in your own words, and a tick for what you actually did. That is day one.

After that, each check-in decides what stays and what, if anything, changes.

The current beta is free. There is no card to enter and nothing to buy today.

That covers your plan, your prepare actions, your daily check-ins and your weekly review. The Reset and your night log are free and stay free.

If we add a paid option later, we will tell you exactly what is included and what it costs before you choose it. We will not move the goalposts on what is already free, and nothing is ever charged without asking you first.

You say so, and it changes. Tap the ✕ on anything in your plan and you’ll be asked what happened: it didn’t fit your day, it didn’t help, it was too hard right now, or you kept forgetting. What you pick decides what comes next: too hard offers the smallest version that still does the job, didn’t fit offers the same thing at a different time of day, and I kept forgetting doesn’t replace it at all. It offers to move it.

You can also just take it off. The plan is allowed to get shorter. There is nothing to catch up on and nothing that punishes you for it.

And you don’t have to write anything for it to notice. Leave the same thing untouched a few mornings running and your crew will say so and offer a change, because something you keep skipping is usually the plan’s fault, not yours.

They stay on your phone. The line you write about your night is kept on your device. It isn’t sent to our servers, and nobody at Crowdseek reads it.

Your crew’s reply is put together on your phone, from your own words. That’s how it can quote you back without anyone else ever seeing what you wrote.

We do record the boring parts: that you logged a night, roughly how long the note was, how many actions you ticked. That’s how we know the app is working. Never what you actually said.

Crowdseek is general wellbeing support, not a clinician or a CBT-I programme, and we won’t pretend otherwise. Crowdseek isn’t medical care. If sleep problems persist, see your GP. That honesty is part of why people trust it.

No, and we’d rather tell you now than have you find out later. They’re software. That’s the point: they’re awake at 4am, they’re warmest after your worst night, and they never get tired of you.

What they say is built from the line you wrote about your night and the things you actually did. Not from a score, and never a judgement. And they don’t just reply: if you tell them something in your plan isn’t working, they offer you something else instead. You choose, or you take it off. Your words stay on your device. Nobody at Crowdseek reads them.

You don’t have to recruit anyone. If you’d like someone you know alongside them later, you can invite them. Private by default, entirely your call, and you control what they see.

Most sleep apps start with their own method, or with data off your wrist, and measure whether you stuck to it. Crowdseek starts with a plan small enough to survive your worst night, It changes when you say something isn’t working, or when it notices you have quietly stopped doing something.

Bryn and Carys answer what you wrote, by name. They are software, and we would rather say so than have you find out later. No scores, no streaks, and nothing to catch up on when you miss a day.

A tracker like RISE starts with its data and shows you what happened last night. We start with what you want and the reason it matters to you, then give you one small plan and a clear next step for the moment it breaks, like 3am. We’re not a better tracker. We’re a different thing. They measure what happened. We listen to what you say about it. Tell us something in your plan isn’t working and the plan changes. A tracker cannot do that, because your words were never its data.

Side by side:

Most trackers & coaching apps Crowdseek
Start with the data they collected Start with what you want, and why it matters to you
Prescribe from a universal checklist Offer a short list that fits your outcome
Streaks and scores that punish a missed day A plan you trim yourself. It’s allowed to get shorter
Leave you alone with your data Answers what you wrote, and changes the plan because of it

No. Crowdseek doesn’t track or score your sleep, your watch already does that if you ever want it. We don’t believe better sleep is a data problem, so there are no graphs to obsess over. You’ll usually feel the change before a number could show it.

Because most apps hand you their rules. Twenty habits, streaks that punish one missed day, and a score in the morning that tells you last night was a 61. That’s the part that makes you feel worse, and it’s the part we left out.

Crowdseek builds the plan around your reason, keeps it small (a done ten beats a missed thirty), and when a night goes wrong you drop to your minimum and restart within 24 hours. No back-to-zero, nothing to catch up on. It’s built to survive real life, not perfect weeks. And when something in the plan isn’t working, you say so and it changes. You choose the replacement, or you take it off and the plan gets shorter. The plan adapts to you. You don’t adapt to it.

It’s two quick taps, with examples to guide you (“better sleep, so I can be present at bedtime stories”). That one step is the whole point: a plan built on your reason is the plan you actually keep. We do the rest. It also earns its keep later: when you tell us something isn’t working, your reason is what chooses the replacement. A smaller version, the same thing at a different time, or something else entirely.

No, and you don’t have to recruit anyone. Nia, Carys and Bryn respond to your check-ins from day one. They’re software: that’s the point, because they’re awake at 4am, they’re warmest after your worst night, and they never get tired of you.

If you’d like someone you know alongside them later, you can invite them. Private by default, entirely your choice, and you control what they see. Nothing about getting started depends on it.

No. There are no public leaderboards, no feeds and no group chats. What you write about your night stays on your phone. It isn’t sent to our servers, and nobody at Crowdseek reads it. If you ever want to share what worked, that’s your choice, never a requirement.

No. Crowdseek isn’t built to keep you scrolling. It’s a short setup, then light check-ins that take seconds, not another feed or tracker demanding your attention. The point is what happens off the screen.

Yes. We follow UK GDPR, encrypt and store your data securely, and never sell it. Anything you tell us about your sleep is treated as sensitive health data and handled with extra care. The line you write about your night stays on your device rather than on our servers.
